Merengue Style of Salsa Dancing Classes

Salsa Dancing Outing Wednesday 3/17/2010
We are going Salsa dancing as a group on Wednesday 3/17/2010. We already have a two week class to learn Mambo style of Salsa dancing on 2/18/10 and 2/25/10 (different posting). Now we are adding two weeks of classes to learn Merengue style of Salsa dancing.
** This will be a two week four hour class, followed by the Salsa Dancing outing.
** We will start with basic steps and hopefully move to some intermediate steps during week one. But during week two, we will continue where we stopped at the end of week one, and move on to more advanced intermediate steps. This will allow us to cover the more advanced steps, and show off on the dance floor when we do dancing as a group.
** At the beginning of week one, you must committ to (and pay for) week one and week two.
** If you miss week one, please do not join us for week two.
As always, we will be rotating partners frequently to make sure that
** Nobody is without a partner for long, and
** You get to dance with most everybody of opposite gender in the group.
** Couples and partnered people are welcome if you are willing to rotate partners with everybody in the group.
We will discuss the dance outing in the class.
For week one and week two, we will meet at Patrick's Cabaret at 3010 Minnehaha Avenue South at Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55407.
** There are parking lots on both sides (South and North) of Patrick's Cabaret, and you can park at any open spot marked Patrick's Cabaret.
** In addition, street parking is free after 6:00 p.m. (Parking on Snelling, 1 block west, near the police station seems to be better.)
** There is a Police Station across the North parking lot. This means we will be safer in this area. However, be sure to follow all parking rules/signs.
** There are a number of bus lines running near this location, and the light rail is only two blocks away.
** The entrance to the studio is through the red door at the back end of the South parking lot.
Please bring your own beverage to drink during the lessons. There is no alcohol allowed at the studio. However, some of us like to go out for food/drinks at a nearby establishment after the lesson.
Cost for the class is only $20/person for classes in week one and week two, to be paid at the beginning of week one. (Please bring cash; exact change is preferable.) If we have more than 20 members, we will do a drawing for one person to get a free class.
(There will be additional costs for dance outing.)
