Back to Salsa Dancing at Santorini's

** Sunday, March 27, 2011, 6:15 PM
** Santorini Taverna, 13000 Technology Dr Eden Prairie, MN 55344, 952-546-6722

Learning to dance Merengue was fun. But most of the songs played by Latin bands are Salsa songs. So, people asked for review/refresher on Salsa for 3/27/2011.

Santorini Taverna in Eden Prairie has a live Salsa band called Salsa Del Soul twice a month, and many advanced Salsa dancers show up for these dances. To help us catch up with those advanced dancers, we will do a beginning level Salsa lesson for our group at 6:30.

So, here is the plan.
** Get there by 6:15 and get settled in.
** Beginning level Salsa/Latin dance lesson from 6:30 to 8:00
** Rest, eat, and drink 8:00 to about 8:30. Santorini has a full bar and excellent Greek/American food.
** At about 8:30 Salsa Del Soul will start playing. We can dance with others in the class and practice what we learned. Better yet, we can dance with the advanced dancers, and polish our dancing style. It is even fun to watch the advanced dancers put on a show for us.
** Depending on your schedule on Monday, you can leave anytime. I will probably leave around 9:30.

As always, we will be rotating partners frequently, during the lesson part, to make sure that
** Nobody is without a partner for long, and
** You get to dance with most everybody of opposite gender in the group.
** It would be nice if couples and partnered people start/end with their partners, but change partners for the rest of the time.

Cost for the class is only $10/person. (Please bring cash; exact change is preferable.)
** People taking the class don't have to pay the $5 cover Santorini charges for the dance.
** I am working with Santorini management to get some bar tabs/gift certificates. Anybody who is in the class will be included in the drawings for these gift certificates.

We hope to see you there!
