This is a beginning level class and we will start with the very basics.  We will help you (even those with two left feet) learn to dance by the end of this class.

Swing (East Coast Swing) is a great first dance for beginners to learn. 

** It is easy to learn the steps of Swing.
** It is easy to learn the concepts of partner dancing, including leading/following and making your partner look good on the dance floor, with Swing steps.

Swing is a very versatile dance, and can be danced to different types of music including Big Band Jazz, Classic Rock and Roll, Rat Pack/Frank Sinatra, Country Western, Top 40, and many movie soundtracks.  We will use different music in the class to help you learn to dance to a variety of music.

The lessons will be 4 Saturdays

Field Trip (Dance outing with the group) to be planned in the class
Check in at 12:30,
Lesson from 12:45 to 2:45,
Optional social time with the group 3:00+

The four sessions are progressive series of classes.  So, in each class, we will review the steps from previous weeks, practice them, and then learn some new steps.

This class is designed for couples.  Bring your Spouse and/or Significant Other.  If you are single, you are welcome to join in the fun.  Please bring a partner to dance with.

This is a multi-group activity. So, people from other groups will join us.

** SLP Middle School Cafeteria, 2025 Texas Avenue South, St. Louis Park, MN 55426
** On Texas Avenue, just north of Cedar Lake Road and south of I-394, just west of Louisiana Avenue South and east of Highway 169
** Free parking in the visitor’s parking lot off Texas Avenue.  (On the first day, you can check out the back parking lot if that is more convenient to you.)
 
The cost for the lesson is $30/couple/class, and you can pay as you go if you so choose.
** But you can save $20 by paying $100/couple in the first class to cover all 4 lessons.
** Please bring cash (exact change please) or checks -- no credit cards.
** If you are not satisfied with this class after first 15 minutes on first day, you can get a full refund and leave.
